Patience

We live in a world of instant gratification. Emails can be sent to the other side of the world in a matter of seconds; we don’t have to queue to transfer money between bank accounts, it’s done with a simple click; and the only time you have to get up when you order food is when the delivery man actually arrives. Everything in today’s modern culture is quick, and somewhat lazy. And we’re used to things being that way.

Working towards dreams and ambitions is not quick though, and does not allow for laziness. It requires time and effort. You need to learn to be patient. After all, anything worth having doesn’t exactly come easy. So whilst most people live a life of instant gratification and slovenliness, you need to practice the art of waiting whilst slowly but surely working away at your goals.

Some say that patience is a virtue, but most of the time it is infuriating. Things do take time, and you must remember  that life is not a race! You can take all of the time you need. Do it quickly, or do it properly – just know that doing it properly will always get you better results, and that is always going to take time.

Patience isn’t just about learning to wait, it’s biding your time, taking one step at a time, and not rushing yourself.

In this world of instant gratification, patience is steadfast, wise and thoughtful. Patience is successful.
