Do you ever just think that you are a bit out of place? That you simply do not belong where you are?
If you answered yes, you are not alone!
My current, 40 hour-a-week office job, where I help line the pockets of other people is not where I am meant to be. And it’s not just the job itself; I don’t really fit in with the people there, we’ve got different values. I don’t belong.
It’s crummy feeling out of place. I don’t know about you, but some days it can be anxiety-inducing!
But you know what I’ve found to help? Using it as motivation towards actually achieving ambitions.
When you come home, tired, exhausted and wanting to just zone out, just think, “I’ll be stuck if I don’t do something” and then go and do something.
Take that thought of being out of place and use it to snap you out of any passivity and laziness.
This is not where you are meant to be.
This is not the hill you want to die on.
This is not your place.
Please do not live a life you are unhappy with because you are simply stuck and didn’t try to do anything about it.
If you feel out of place, then find a new one. Create a new place if you have to. Whether it’s a shitty job, a bad relationship, or a bad family dynamic, get going and look for where you do belong. Where your soul feels right.
Don’t make rash decisions – being unemployed and poor is not the desired outcome here – but you need to use your desire for change as motivation.
Think, do, change, belong.
